Is the hype true? What do owners of the Big Green Egg think? Is it really the ‘world’s best barbeque’?

My family just got one as a gift … we feel excited but don’t know much about the thing and wonder whether owners have tips on getting started. I feel the Big Green Egg website and forum are all a bit ‘culty’ … for one thing, I’m having a hard time understanding how you get the ‘perfect temperature’ on a charcoal bbq in 10 minutes. And is it possible that meat never dries out as the marketers claim?
