Barbeque Rubs
unavoidable high-calorie dinner?
tommorow i’m going out to dinner with my family at a really good resturant. i’m obviously going to eat a very fatty dinner (that’s inevitable) but i’m gonna try to ecercise and eat only one 40 cal yogurt and a peach during the day.
these are the dinner options:
-Pork Tenderloin, Bacon, Caramelized Onion and Apple Cider Beurre Blanc
-Sweet Rub, Smoked Ribs with Honey Glaze Barbeque Sauce
-Braised Lamb Shank with Roasted Garlic and Rosemary Jus
what should i get? probably not the ribs, but that’s my favorite food and i’ve been looking forward to eating here for a long time.
yeah normally i’d go for the ribs but the problem is i had them a few days ago at my cousin’s house. i mean, i wasn’t just gonna say “no thank you” to a plate of ribs. i think tommorow i’ll just go with a salad or something 
oh well.
Let me preface my comments by saying that I lost 70 lbs. over three years ago and am successfully maintaining.
I say to order whatever you want since this has been something you’ve been looking forward to for a long time.
I have to assume you’re on a weight loss program to have asked the question so I’ll make these recommendations…
Eat light earlier in the day but don’t starve yourself with one yogurt. You’ll be so hungry by the time you arrive at the restaurant that you’ll be nibbling on the tablecloth!
I’d even go so far as to recommend eating something like a salad just before you leave for the dinner. Then you might consider eating only half of everything that comes to the table. If you’re concerned about nibbling your way through all of it anyway just ask for a doggie bag before you even start eating. Remove the excess from your plate so you don’t have to look at it and you won’t feel deprived.
By the end of dinner you’ll be satisfied and won’t be tempted to go face first into a dessert.
If you do this you’ll have that enjoyable meal you were looking for and won’t have any guilt the next morning OR a jump in the scale.
