Which hops rhizome(s) from where?
Thinking of putting hops in the garden. Primary purposes will be for tea (medicinal and for the flavor), for the aroma while growing, and I may try to experiment using it as a seasoning for food, and with the grape leaves and hickory chips in the barbeque.
Which variety or varieties should I consider, and from which supplier(s)? Thanks…
I have thought of growing them too, somewhat for shade, though I used to brew beer in the old days, and it’s a very interesting plant. It’s a natural anti-biotic. There are suppliers on the net, but the major site I’ve gone to for information is currently sold out.
Since you are not brewing a particular style of beer, you might consider looking at your climate, and if you have any hop varieties growing wild in your area.
My area has Cluster hops, so I’ll probably try these, and I know they’ll do well with the climate. Good luck and have fun.
