Cooking During A Power Failure?

What are the different choices for cooking INSIDE the house when there is a power failure?
Someone mentioned to me an alcohol fueled stove would be good. Is that true? Is it safe inside the house? Here is a link to that type of stove :

I can’t imagine that this is a regular problem for you. I would hope you could do without cooking for a few hours each year. I keep a supply of canned foods which can be eaten cold. My inventory always consist of at least some of the following:
Tuna, Vienna sausages, beans and wienies, kidney beans, peanut butter, green beans, water chestnuts, stewed tomatoes, applesauce, peaches, crackers, and bottled water.
I live in California and in the past 10 years, my power has not been off long enough to have cooked a meal and we have not had an earthquake or tremor. I do rotate my canned food once a year to keep it fresh.

My son lives up in the mountains and their electricity does go off for a few days at a time every few years. He, as well as his neighbors, all have small generators. You have to keep your frozen foods cold if it is going to be off for a length of time. Also most furnaces use electricity or they won’t come on. Cooking could be the least of your worries.
