I need advice re my birthday and my newphew?
I will be turning 37 on Sunday and am currently 18 weeks pregnant (with our second child). I am not having a great pregnancy this time around, I am struggling to keep food down. Anyway, our families (mine and my husbands) always get together for birthdays, usually going to a restaurant or having a bbq. We have just moved house, therefore having a bbq at our house is currently out of the question. My sister-in-law rang my husband yesterday and mentioned that her son (our 17 y.o newphew) is playing in a band at a licensed cafe on Sunday afternoon and we might like to have lunch there for my birthday and also hear him play. I was more thinking of afternoon tea somewhere because of my “food issue” at the moment. My issue is that I feel that we are not celebrating my birthday, but rather seeing my nephew’s band. I also feel the decision as to where to celebrate my birthday has been taken out of my hands. Am I wrong to feel this? Am I being irrational and selfish? Thoughts please.
