Bbq Grill Sales
My husband bought a big slab of pork spare ribs on sale and he wants me to cook it, I am clueless, any ideas?
There a was a buy 1 get 2 free sale so hubby couldn’t resist and he bought 3 of these big racks of John Morrell pork ribs. We froze 2 of them but he wants to eat one today. It weighs 3.34 lbs (if that even helps to know). Do I crock pot it or boil it before I put it on the char-coaled BBQ grill or just put it on the grill “Raw”?
Barbequed Ribs
4 pounds baby back pork ribs
4 cloves garlic, sliced
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup chili sauce
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 clove crushed garlic
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Place ribs on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Scatter 4 cloves of sliced garlic over ribs. Cover, and bake for 2 1/2 hours. Cool slightly.
2. In a small bowl, mix together white sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, chili powder, and ground cumin. Rub spices over cooled ribs. Cover, and refrigerate overnight.
3. In a small saucepan, mix together brown sugar, cider vinegar, ketchup, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, onion, dry mustard, and 1 clove garlic. Simmer over medium-low heat, uncovered, for 1 hour. Reserve a small amount for basting; the remainder is a dipping sauce.
4. Preheat grill for medium heat.
5. Place ribs on grill. Grill, covered, for about 12 minutes, basting with the reserved sauce, until nicely browned and glazed. Serve with remaining sauce for dipping.
Barbequed Pork Ribs
5 pounds pork spareribs, cut
into serving size pieces
1/2 cup butter
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
1 cup water
1 cup ketchup
1 cup hickory smoke flavored
barbeque sauce
1 lemon, juiced
salt and pepper to taste
1. Place ribs in large skillet or roasting pan. Cover with lightly salted water, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 1 hour, or until meat is tender, but not quite falling off the bone. Remove from heat, and drain.
2. Place the boiled ribs in a roasting pan, and cover with sauce. Cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
3. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook the onion and garlic in butter until the onion is tender; remove from heat. In a blender, combine 1 cup water, vinegar, ketchup, barbeque sauce, and lemon juice. Pour in the melted butter mixture, and puree for 1 minute. Pour into a saucepan, and season to taste with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.
4. Preheat grill for medium-high heat.
5. Brush grill grate with oil. Grill ribs for 10 to 20 minutes, or until well browned, basting with sauce and turning frequently.
