Is there a step by step to build a pad footing for a load bearing wall?
We need to set up a pad footing where we are removing a load bearing wall and putting up a 4×10 beam. Is there a step by step guide on how to do this. I have searched the internet and can only find info on pad footings for barbecues etc. I also need info on what kind of steel reinforcements to use if possible. Thank you in advance
I’d have to believe the main reason why you couldn’t find anything to run off is your terminology is vague. If you’re taking down a load bearing wall and putting up a 4×10 beam, are you going to place the beam where the wall was? if so there must be footings there. If not are you going to need isolated piers (stand alone) or engaged piers? (bonded to other brickwork) A bit more info might get you over the line.
