Chinese Barbeque
Good Chinese bakery in Houston?
I’m looking for a good Chinese bakery or “to-go” dim sum place in Houston where I can get some chao siu bao (barbeque pork buns). I’d appreciate specifics, not a generic answer like “chinatown.” Thanks!!
If you just drive down Bellaire near the Beltway, you have a lot of places to choose from.
For example, Dun Huang Supermarket (fairly new) on Bellaire near beltway has a chinese bakery inside where they sell a variety of freshly made pasteries (like taro bun, coconut bun, etc). It’s recommended to go there as early as possible.
Also, there is a “to-go” dim sum to the left of the bakery that has a decent variety of stuff.

Also, the general restaurants and desserts stores around the supermarket in Dun Huang Plaza are really good, like Juice Box, Cafe 101, Star Snow Teriyaki, etc. You should try them out if you haven’t done so.
