Electric Water Smoker
Question about smoking salmon in an electric smoker?
Bought a new Master Built Smoker with a water pan. Do I need to add water to the pan before I smoke salmon? I have never added water inside my smokers before, but since this pan is called”water pan” maybe I need to add water to it. Directions’s don’t say anything about how to use the water pan.
For outdoor grilling typically you can grill wet or dry. Often people cold smoke meat, which means at a very low temperature for a very long time, with a ice tray that needs constant changing as the ice melts. I would try both! Perhaps adding water to the tray will make the fish more moist. Are yours an indoor smoker? You may need to take the battery out of your smoke alarm!
