Do I need to use filters in my return grilles if I have a media filter at the front of my a/c unit?
I had a media filter installed, it is connected to my a/c unit. The return grilles are before the media filter. do i need to put filters in the return grilles. I thought maybe I don’t need them since the media filter is after the return grille filters.
They cut off airflow, the dirt comes from us and goes into the return air, catch it before goes to furnace.
Ducts should be cleaned 1x every 5 years as per ASMA recommendations.
As for catching it before that is good idea also, but then you have to take your returns off every month, cause that will plug up faster than furnace filters.
Depends if you have animals and kids carpet and so on.
Not a bad idea but some furnaces can’t handle the strain.
