How to start selling Homemade Barbecue sauce,What to do first?
depending on where you live will dictate the regulations.
You can sell to friends. But I think you are looking to sell in quantity.
1.You have to submit your recipe for a patent to protect your rights.
2.Then you need to get the ingredients label approved.
3. Develop a brand or label with a catchy phrase.
4. once you have the sauce, bottles, labels etc. try fairs. They are cheap to enter and you can start small.
5. eventually you may need a bottling company. Look in your local area for food manufactures. There are places that do small run private labels and are approved.
6. look for a distributor to help you take it to the next level for sales. Selling at fairs will give you sales proof.
7. get local independent supermarkets to sell your sauce.
