How To Cook Barbecue Chicken
Funny smell coming from brand new barbecue grill?
I bought a new grill today, and after hassling for two hours putting it together, I finally have got it to light. However, there is a really funny smell coming from it. I have tried to burn the smell away, but after about 50 minutes now on High, the smell has gotten only a little bit better.
I’m not sure where the smell is coming from. I really want to grill chicken tonight, but I am unsure whether cooking them with the smell is safe or not.
If anyone could tell me how to get rid of the smell or whether or not it is safe to cook on the grill right now, I would really appreciate it.

here is what i always do when i get a new grill. i leave it on high for maybe half an hour. shut it down. let it cool then i hose it off and give it a decent scrub with non abrasive cleaner ie dish soap. after that rinse it off then fire it up for a few minutes and that smell goes away.
