Installed windows vista on computer, now CD & DVD drive not being recognized in vista, what can I do?
I contacted the manufacturer and they said microsoft supplies the drivers. When I contacted microsoft they said I could either pay $59 dollars to have a tech help me or try to figure it out myself, which I think is a ripoff. I also have 2 harddrives, 1 with XP and now it only recognize the one with vista on it. I want to remove vista but can’t reinstall XP, because my cd or dvd drive isn’t working. It shows up under the device menu. I receive the message: windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware, the driver may be corrupted or missing (code 39). I would like to uninstall vista and reinstall XP, but can’t because my cd, nor dvd drive is working. Can someone please help me? When I ran vista advisor it said my system was ready to run vista, and that there were no problems with my hardware.
probably the least thing that you can do is format your computer manually. because some dirvers is not yet supported by vista that’s why it sucks that’s the weakness of vista it cannot suppport old drivers.
