Can I barbeque at Santa Cruz beach in California?
I was at Santa Cruz beach boardwalk the other day and saw a few people on the beach with grills and charcoal. I was wondering if it is LEGAL to barbeque on the beach during the day? Or are there any rules or restrictions regarding this? Thanks for all your help

If a beach has a picnic area (as Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk does, if I recall correctly)…then it is legal to BBQ there.
There’s certainly no city ordinance against it that I can find. Unless there’s a sign that clearly states you are not allowed to do so, you’re probably safe from the authorities. Just remember to follow all the usual precautions about cleaning up and putting out fires. You are liable for any damages you cause, even if it’s a legal BBQ.
Other than that, have fun!
