What Is kissing a smoker like if you are a non smoker?

There is this reallynice guy Ive started going out with and it’s only a matter of time before we kiss. I just want to know if it’s that gross to kiss a smoker? Does it smell and taste that bad? Do you ever get use to it?

One of my first boyfriends was a smoker ( & he smoked a lot) I however was not. When we finally did kiss i could taste the tobacco and it was NO a good taste. I was almost repelled by it, however i kissed him anyways. After our first date ( we spent most of the day together) & LOTS of kissing, i had that odd taste in my mouth ( By the way he would smoke right before we would kiss even tho he knew i didnt like it) i also had trouble breathing ( it was either being around smoke or kissing)
However, once i talked to him about it he would put of smoking till AFTER we kissed and we would wait a bit between ( the taste goes away) he would also drink somehting ( such as water) or chew gum before we kissed. it helps a lot.

However, sadly now im a smoker and the people i kiss never seem to be able to tell
