The Best Barbecue

what is the best homeade barbecue sauce in America?

I remember making a sauce in the 70’s using tomato soup

Try this one. It’s delicious and simple.

Recipe: Beer Barbecue Sauce

Heat 1 tsp oil in skillet or saucepan
Then add 1 tsp minced garlic
3/4 cup minced onion (about 1 medium onion)
cook until onion gets soft, about 4 minutes.
Then add all of the following:
1 1/2 cups basic barbecue sauce (store bought is fine)
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp liquid smoke
1 cup beer
salt to taste
pinch of crushed red pepper flakes if desired
Simmer the mixture for about 5 minutes, or until thickened.
Adjust seasoning (i.e. salt) if needed. Sauce can be made 1
week ahead and refrigerated. Yields 2 1/2 cups of sauce.
This is very good for beef or pork ribs, but can also be
used for all types of grilled meats.
