Can I give a medical charcoal to my cat?
My cat was poisoned, and he had an injection yesterday. I think he is in pain, can I give him some medical charcoal? I read something like this:
Use 1 tablespoon activated charcoal mixed with small amount of milk or raw egg. Force it down and wait. The charcoal will draw out the poison.
Do NOTuse charcoal like to grill with.
Walmart sells it in the drug department area.
You can make your own by starting a fire and burn wood (without chemical) and when the wood turns to coals , smother them under a lid or whatever, let them cool and grind into a powder.
Is that OK?
Your cat will be fine AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT GIVE IT THE CHARCOAL, unltil you ask your vet about this and if it’s ok.
My cat had an infection too, it may not seen its normal self again until the infection is gone completely. Just give it lots of love to show you still care for it. If you are truly concerned about your cat, ask your vet and take the cat with you.
